They are composed of Ren Nanahoshi (Vo.), Yuto Goryo (Gt.), Wataru Matoba (Ba.), Banri Shiroishi (Dr.), and Rio Kikyo (Key.).
The live band is composed of their respective voice actors, Masahiro Ito, Daisuke Hyuga, Seiji Maeda, Shohei Hashimoto, and Shuta Morishima.
Background[]
They are a college boy band based in Hakodate, Hokkaido. However, they moved to Shimokitazawa to be able to participate in the LIVE ROYALE FESTIVAL.
History[]
The male-centric multimedia project that is part of the BanG Dream! franchise was announced shortly before the start of the BanG Dream! 5th☆LIVE held May 12-13, 2018.[1] Due to an uproar of worried fans that the characters from the game Girls Band Party! will have to interact with male characters, Kidani Takaaki, Bushiroad's President, clarified that this project will not mix and interact with the existing project.[2] He later added his personal view that he does not want to see males in the current BanG Dream project, except for the characters' fathers.[3]
On May 11, 2018, Daisuke Hyuga, Shuta Morishima, and Seiji Maeda were the first three voice actors to be revealed as part of the project. They provide the voices for Yuto Goryo, Rio Kikyo and Wataru Matoba, respectively. Masahiro Ito, as Ren Nanahoshi, joined them during their Argonavis 0-2nd LIVE -The Beginning- held September 15, 2018. They were later joined by Shohei Hashimoto as Banri Shiroishi, during their Argonavis 0-BEYOND LIVE -The Beginning- held December 10, 2018.
Etymology[]
Shuta Morishima has told the audience during the Argonavis 0-BEYOND LIVE -The Beginning-[4] the meaning of the name Argonavis. He said that it was a reference from a large ship named Argo Navis in old Greek mythology, which is a large constellation. However, this constellation no longer exists. It had been divided into four constellations. Vela, Puppis, Carina and Pyxis gathered together and become the ship's head which is the Argo.
The project's official Twitter's icon and website features a lot of stars. According to Morishima, "ARGONAVIS" is the keyword of the combination of all stars.
Their band's logo also features stars.

Trivia[]
- While sharing the name with the project's name, their band's name is in proper form (Argonavis), while the project's name is in upper case (ARGONAVIS).
- They have pet puppy named Pon-chan. His name came from how he goes "pon-pon" when scuttling around. He's okay on the bed, and everyone takes care of him.. though he's a bit dumb.[5]
