Ren Nanahoshi (七星 蓮 Nanahoshi Ren) a first-year university student taking up Law and the vocalist for the band Argonavis.
Personality[]
Ren is normally a shy and soft-spoken boy who has a pure and innocent demeanor. That being said, he's also quite proactive and strong-willed who isn't afraid to speak his mind when he feels the need to.
History[]
Unable to forget the excitement of an outdoor live Ren saw when he was a kid, he started singing with the dream of standing on the big stage in the future. Initially, due to a negative past experience from joining a choir club in middle school, he continued to sing in karaoke rooms privately. He joined Argonavis after being scouted by Yuto Goryo, who was looking for a vocalist.
Etymology[]
- The name Ren means "lotus, water lily" (蓮).
- Ren's surname Nanahoshi means "seven" (七) (nana) and "star" (星) (hoshi). Taken as one, Nanahoshi refers to "Ursa Major", otherwise known as "Big Dipper", which is a constellation of seven stars.
Trivia[]
- Ren loves singing songs from the Super Sentai Series [1] that he can talk excitedly and non-stop about the series.[2]
- Ren is in the same Faculty of Law with Nayuta Asahi after transferring to Kamogawa Music College.[3]
- Ren is rather clueless when it comes to technology. In Episode 9 of the anime, he has difficulties in operating the camera to record Argonavis' live performance, considering himself a "tech noob."[4]
- Ren loves Lucky Pierrot’s Chinese chicken burgers, to the point where Banri Shiroishi asks him whether he likes Chinese chicken burgers or singing more. Upon moving to Tokyo and finding out that there aren’t any Lucky Pierrot restaurants, he’s more than a little dejected.
